Shija Paediatric & Neonatal Care Centre is a unique, one stop healthcare facility set up for the needs of all babies, children and teenagers. The centre has out-door, in-door and emergency services. It is geared to deliver top quality medical services for children from birth to eighteen years of age with great care and compassion. The centre is managed by well experienced paediatric and neonatal specialists.
Our medical professional understands that children have needs that are as diverse and unique as each child is. The healthcare we provide range from routine child check-ups to the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic diseases.
We administer evaluations for children with cleft lip, cleft palate or other craniofacial anomalies. We offer behavioral assessments and other growth and development services as essential components of your child’s well being.
As children experience the typically rapid growth and development process, regular check-ups are important to keep your child in good health. Keeping your child healthy with physical care and emotional support is part of health maintenance. We offer ways to promote healthy lifestyles in daily activities such as play and sleep. We will ensure your child receives information about proper dental care, immunizations and discipline.
Your child will receive a thorough physical exam after birth and on the day of discharge. After each exam the paediatrician will discuss any abnormal findings with you. We strongly recommend that newborns stay in the hospital for a minimum of forty-eight hours. This allows time for feedings to be well established and also allows time for detection of medical conditions such as jaundice, which may affect your child’s health. Discharge prior to forty-eight hours is not usually in the best interest of the child or mother.
